How updates work
Free updates included
Every FinderBuddy license includes future updates at no extra cost. No subscription, no upgrade fees, no renewals.
Installing an update
Download the latest version from this page, open the DMG, and drag FinderBuddy into your Applications folder. Choose Replace when asked. That's it.
Your license carries over
Updates work with the license key you already have. There's nothing new to buy, and your files stay exactly where they are.
- Which version do I have?
- Open FinderBuddy and choose About FinderBuddy from the FinderBuddy menu in the menu bar. The version number is shown there. Compare it with the latest version at the top of this page.
- Will updating change my files?
- No. An update replaces only the app itself. Files you've already processed stay where they are, and FinderBuddy never touches your originals.
- How often are updates released?
- We ship fixes as soon as they're ready and add new tools regularly. Every release, big or small, is listed in the changelog above.
- Something isn't working after an update?
- Email support@finderbuddy.net with your macOS version and what happened. We'll help you fix it, or get you back to the previous version while we do.
